By choosing the new Grace Period on a Subscription Service, you can increase the number of times a charge is attempted on a declined credit card (when appropriate).
During Grace, the subscriber will continue to have access to content until grace ends and the subscription is stopped/canceled in the system. The subscriber will be considered active until they are stopped/canceled.Â
On the configuration tab of each Subscription type Service, admins will have the choice of setting a Grace period of:
None (default)
1 week (7 days)
2 weeks (14 days)
1 month (30 days)
The number of credit card retries (in addition to the 3 prior to expiration) will be increased during Grace and are variable, according to the decline reason, length of grace selected, day of the week, and numerical day of the month.
In the event that a subscription is set to renew but the card fails, each Grace period has a corresponding schedule of retries. The maximum number of attempts in any case will be 14.
No grace period selected (default) - 3 retries prior to expiration date, then the subscription is stopped/canceled
1 week of grace: 3 retries prior to expiration date, then attempted daily
2 weeks: 3 retries prior to expiration date, then attempted daily
1 month: 3 retries prior to expiration date, then attempted daily for the first week, then only on Monday and Friday and the 2nd and 16th of the month
